Vita Education Services offers FREE Literacy, High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation Classes, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Family Literacy programs for adults. Classes are held at various locations throughout Bucks County.
Adults interested in Vita’s programs must attend an orientation and registration session to determine eligibility for class. Registrations are held in September and January. Summer classes are held at some locations and registration for those is in June.
Potential students are selected on the basis of their core goals and the ability to make a commitment to at least five hours of instruction per week for a semester. Core goals include obtaining or retaining employment, getting a HSE diploma, pursuing further training, entering a post-secondary institution, or improving literacy skills to help their children succeed in school.
Students are also expected to work on assignments outside of class. Students need to have transportation and child care arrangements taken care of in order to come regularly for instruction.
