Vita Education Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunities:

English Language Learning, GED Preparation & Basic Skills Tutors

Tutors work one-on-one or with small groups, helping students:

  • Improve reading skills
  • Understand increasingly complex material
  • Communicate clearly in writing

English Language Learning tutors support adult learners from around the world as they build English skills for daily life, work, and community participation. Tutors work with small groups of students to practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Tutors teach everything from basic vocabulary and grammar to language skills students can use at work or in training programs, to access community resources, or achieve citizenship.

ESL Tutoring is offered in person in the day or evening in Doylestown.

GED Preparation and Basic Skills tutors help adults strengthen their reading, writing, and essential education skills. Our students come from many backgrounds – some are returning to school and working toward a GED or High School Equivalency degree, while others are conversational in English and looking to build confidence in reading and writing.

GED Preparation/Basic Skills Tutoring is offered in person in the day or evening at locations in Doylestown, Warminster, Bensalem, Levittown, and Bristol.
