Basic Literacy

Literacy tutors work with small groups of adults who want to improve their skills in reading, writing, and speaking English. Tutor training provides an understanding of the adult learner and the techniques to become an effective tutor.

English as a Second Language

English as a Second Language (ESL) tutors work with adults for whom English is not a first language; these are individuals who want to improve conversation, reading and writing of English.

Transitions

Transitions tutors help advanced ESL students develop accuracy and fluency in speaking and reading English.

Decisions For Living

Decisions For Living (DFL) tutors work  one-on-one with clients in the Bucks County Correctional Facilities, teaching a process that emphasizes self-awareness, personal responsibility, critical thinking, and goal setting. DFL provides clients with tools to help them reintegrate more effectively into the community upon release.

ESL/Basic Literacy Classroom Aides

Classroom Aides work with our professional teaching staff by providing additional support for small groups or individuals within the classroom. Teaching staff will provide guidance and materials for the classroom aide to use with our adult learners.
